老警察宋长忠值班路上遭人袭击被打成植物人。40天后，老警察孙贵清同样在值班路上遭到袭击，受到严重伤害，随身携带的五四式手枪也被抢走，谷城被震惊了。一时间，谷城的大街上看不到一个穿警服的人，谷城的老百姓陷入一片恐慌中。。Set in 1989, Jake (Harmon), an out-of-work photojournalist who struggles with addiction and a troubled past, takes a job as watchman of a wilderness lodge on a remote island in the Pacific Northwest, alongside veteran handyman Sparky (Granger). Jake sets up a darkroom to develop the photos he shoots, which begin to reveal disturbing premonitions of their future.。
