小鸡破壳而出后，把蛋壳当“废物”一脚踢到角落，小蛋壳不甘心当“废物”，将身边熟睡的兄弟姐妹纷纷摇醒，哪知道它们全劝它死心，因为蛋壳是没有手脚的。小蛋壳遐想之际，乌云婆婆提出帮它的忙。 路上，小蛋壳被一只大老鼠误认为是鸡蛋，看清它是“废物”蛋壳时，觉得自己被戏耍了的老鼠决定拿回家当饭桶。天降大雨，蛋壳成了老鼠的眼睛，后来又成为渡老鼠过河的船，正是在此时，它凭机智摆脱了老鼠，老鼠落入急流中。雨过天晴，蛋壳被小朋友捡回家中画成一个好看的玩具。和其它玩具一起开心玩耍之时，它又遇上那只老鼠，原来它没有被淹死。。Based on a 1924 mystery novel by Agatha Christie, The Man in the Brown Suit was the eighth of Warner Bros.
